St Helens Mountain Bike Trails – Bay of Fires Trail and Flagstaff Network, Tasmania
110 km of trails, including the famous Bay of Fires Trail
About
St Helens Mountain Bike Trails is a trail network of around 110 km on the north-east coast of Tasmania, Australia, just down the road from Derby. Built by World Trail, it is home to the famous Bay of Fires Trail – a descent from the sub-alpine Blue Tier all the way down to the beach.
Riding at St Helens Mountain Bike Trails
- Bay of Fires Trail – starts high on the Blue Tier, winds through granite boulders and ridgelines with mountain and coastal views, and finishes at Swimcart Beach in the Bay of Fires
- Flagstaff Network – 8 stacked loops for beginner to intermediate riders, close to town
- Townlink – a dual-direction trail linking St Helens town to the Flagstaff trailhead
- Loila Tier descents – longer, more challenging descents for skilled riders
The big descents start high on the Blue Tier and Loila Tier, so many riders use a shuttle – check the trails website for current options. The trails are maintained by local crews, and riders are asked to support their ongoing development.
