Spirit Mountain Bike Park – Lift-Served Downhill in Duluth, Minnesota
Chairlift-served downhill, jump and flow trails above Duluth
About
Spirit Mountain sits on the hillside above Duluth, and in summer Spirit Mountain Bike Park turns the ski slopes into lift-served mountain bike terrain. You ride the chairlift up and choose from flow trails, jump lines and technical downhill.
Trails
The park lists 24 trails: 5 easy, 3 intermediate, 9 advanced and 7 expert. That mix leans toward stronger riders, but there are beginner progression trails, a skills park and a pump track for warming up or learning the basics.
Lessons and rentals
The resort offers a two-hour Beginner Mountain Bike Private Lesson for $160, which includes the lift ticket for the lesson, for ages 6 and up. A three-hour Beginner Downhill Private Lesson costs $200, runs on weekends for ages 9 and up, and the ticket stays valid for the rest of the day. Rental bikes are not included in lesson prices. The resort says its teaching model is based on the Professional Mountain Bike Instructors Association approach. Rental enduro bikes and full-face helmets are available Thursday to Monday, first come, first served, and supply is limited.
