About

Sky Tavern is a nonprofit ski and bike area on the Mt. Rose Highway above Reno. Sky Tavern Mountain Bike Park has purpose-built trails with berms, switchbacks, rocks, loose soil and jumps, and the trail building is funded entirely by fundraising.

Clinics and camps

The Riders in the Sky program runs from June through September. It includes 2-hour clinics for youth (ages 8 to 13) and teens and adults (14+), women-inclusive clinics, a three-day progression series and a Teen Gravity Series. Kids can add an all-day camp on clinic days. There is also a women’s mountain bike camp.

Coaches

Clinics are led by trained coaches. One coach took the PMBIA Level 1 Instructor course and is now a Level 2 instructor.

Shuttle and private lessons

The park is served by a shuttle, and shuttle rides are included with private lessons and bike memberships. Private lessons run when the shuttle is scheduled.

Good to know

Clinic prices on the 2026 schedule were $55 for a 2-hour clinic, $165 for the three-day progression series and $125 per hour for a private lesson for 1–2 riders. Book through the Sky Tavern website, email [email protected] or call (775) 323-5125.
