About
Satoyama Mountain Bike Tourism (里山マウンテンバイクツーリズム) runs E-MTB Tours in Toyama, in the rural satoyama foothills of the Tateyama range. The routes follow old mountain paths that the guide has restored, through villages, forests and temple grounds.
Tours
Groups are small (up to eight riders) and routes are customised. A half-day tour (about three and a half hours) costs ¥11,000 per person for four to eight riders, and a full-day tour (about six hours) ¥16,500 per person. Solo riders pay ¥44,000 for a half day or ¥66,000 for a full day. Lunch can be bought at Nichiseki-ji temple. Bikes, helmets and gloves are included.
E-MTB rental
E-MTBs can be rented for ¥6,600 for four hours or ¥8,800 for six hours. Riding the managed trails without a guide requires free membership and a beginner course.
Good to know
The season runs from April to November. Tours meet at Nonoie in Tateyama and start at 9:30 or 13:00. Riders must be at least 150 cm tall. Book through the online form.
