Mountain Bike Lessons at Coler – Peel Compton Foundation
Learn-to-ride classes, skills clinics and private lessons at Coler Preserve
About
The Peel Compton Foundation manages Coler Mountain Bike Preserve in Bentonville and runs a learn-to-ride program there. Its Mountain Bike Lessons at Coler cover first rides through to jumps and drops.
Classes and clinics
Level 1 Mountain Biking Basics is for new riders or anyone who never had formal instruction. It covers safety checks, riding position, braking, shifting and trail etiquette. After that you can take single-skill classes: Intro to Jumps, Intro to Drops, Intro to Cornering and Intro to Technical Terrain. The foundation says Level 1 is taught by PMBIA-certified instructors.
Private lessons and guided rides
A two-hour private lesson costs $100. It includes a skills check, a progression plan and feedback on green, blue or black trails, with optional video. Private guided rides cost $100 and the guide picks trails to suit you. Riders must be 15 or older and bring their own bike and helmet.
Good to know
Most sessions are on the Coler trails, with other Bentonville spots possible. Book online through the foundation’s shop. Lessons and rides can also be bought as gifts. Call or email the foundation if you have questions.
