About

Northstar Bike Park is the summer bike park at Northstar California Resort, between Truckee and the north shore of Lake Tahoe. Northstar Bike Park is known for its long, steep downhill trails, but it also has easier terrain for newer riders.

Lifts and terrain

Bikes go up on the Big Springs Gondola, the Zephyr Express and the Vista Express. The resort describes its trails as ranging from world-class downhill runs to approachable terrain. Expect rocky, fast Sierra tracks, jump lines and plenty of vertical on the upper mountain.

Rentals and passes

The Fox Shop in Northstar Village rents bikes. Bike park day passes, season passes and bike haul tickets are sold through the resort. Prices change through the season, so check the website before you go.

Good to know

In 2026 the park opened on June 12 and runs through the summer, with the resort closing for summer in early fall. Check the website for current operating days. Opening days depend on snow and weather. Book passes online or call the resort on (530) 562-1010. Full-face helmets and pads are a good idea for the downhill trails.
