Mt Tumbarumba Mountain Bike Park – Community Gravity Park in the Snowy Valleys, NSW
Australia's first community-owned gravity bike park
About
Mt Tumbarumba Mountain Bike Park is a gravity-focused bike park on the edge of the Snowy Mountains in southern New South Wales, Australia. Opened in March 2025, it is Australia’s first community-owned and operated mountain bike park – built by the town of Tumbarumba to bring life back to the region after the 2020 Black Summer bushfires.
Riding at Mt Tumbarumba
- Around 22 km of gravity trails with about 300 m of vertical drop
- 21 named routes for all skill levels, from flowy descents to technical, hand-built features
- Uplift shuttles, plus a 6 km climbing trail for riders who want to pedal up
- Pump track and a kids’ bike playground
- Cross-country riding nearby at Town Common and Mason’s Hill
The trails were designed by Iconic Trails and Natural Trails using a mix of machine-built and hand-crafted features. Riding is paid access, and all revenue goes back into trail maintenance and future development.
A true community project
The park was funded by a federal bushfire recovery grant – and by the community itself: at one famous cattle auction, local farmers donated cows and raised more than $140,000 in a single evening. The project is led by the local club, Cycle Tumbarumba.
Why ride Mt Tumbarumba
