Mountain Bike Skills Clinics in Minneapolis – Loppet Foundation

BICP-led adult MTB skills clinics and private lessons in Minneapolis

MTB school United States, North America

About

The Loppet Foundation runs Mountain Bike Skills Clinics in Minneapolis for adults who want to ride with more control and confidence. The clinics are short, focused sessions with little to no trail riding, so the time goes into practice and feedback.

What you can learn

The program covers riders from novice to advanced. There is a fundamentals course in a full and a short format, plus sessions on slow-speed control, climbing and descending, wheel lifts, drops, and advanced cornering, berms and pumping. Jump sessions are run with a local partner. In winter there are fat bike fundamentals clinics too. Some advanced clinics meet at the Perkins Hill Pump Track in north Minneapolis. Riders who want more trail time can move on to the multi-week Trail Adults program.

Instructors

The clinics are led by BICP Certified Skills Instructors, trained through the Bike Instructor Certification Program.

Private lessons

You can also book a private lesson with a two-hour minimum. Rates start at $70 per hour for one rider and go down per person for small groups of two to four. Larger groups can ask for a quote. Rental bikes are available from the Adventure Shop in the Loppet Trailhead building, but fat bikes are limited, so sign up early.

Good to know

Group clinics run mostly from May to September, with fat bike clinics in January and February. Registration is online through RunSignUp, which adds a small processing fee. For questions, email the Loppet team before you book.
