About

Looking for a bike hotel in Sölden? Hotel Sunny Sölden is set up for mountain bikers, with bike rental and guided rides or shuttles.

Hotel Sunny Sölden is a good base for riders who want guided days out and plenty of choice on the Bike Republic Sölden trails. It suits both newer riders keen to build skills and experienced enduro fans.

The hotel runs two guided tours six days a week with certified guides, plus technique coaching. Guests with the Ötztal Inside Summer Card get one standard bike rental free per stay, and further rentals are discounted. A pump track right beside the hotel is handy for warming up or practising cornering and jumps.

The Giggijoch valley station is under five minutes on foot, giving lift access to Sölden’s network of flow and enduro trails. After riding there is a pool and sauna to relax in, and the village centre is close by.

Best rides from Sölden

  • Gahe Line – a relaxed, 7.6 km blue built line from the Gaislachkoglbahn; link it with the Harbe and Lettn lines for a 12 km descent.
  • Teäre Line – around 6 km of surf-style berms and rollers, with the more demanding Zaahe variant for riders who want extra spice.
  • Ollweite Line – a 7 km red line starting at 2,666 m near the Rettenbach glacier, reached by the Langegg chairlift, with a rocky rock-garden section.
  • Leiterberg Nature Trail – a 4.6 km red natural trail dropping 550 m from Hochsölden; ride back up on the Giggijochbahn.
  • Nene Nature Trail – a black, rooty and technical forest trail from the Gaislachkogl middle station for experienced riders.

In all, the Bike Republic counts 15 natural trails and nine built lines, plus a pump track of over 100 m at the Gaislachkogl middle station, so there is plenty to fill a week.

Getting to Sölden

Innsbruck is the closest airport, roughly an hour and a quarter by car: around 50 km to the Ötztal valley entrance, then about 38 km up the valley to Sölden. Munich and Salzburg airports are both around two to three hours away, and Zurich roughly three.

Trains stop at Ötztal-Bahnhof at the valley entrance, with direct connections from Innsbruck and beyond, and public buses run up the valley about every 30 minutes.

When to ride

Basing yourself at a bike hotel in Sölden gives you high-altitude riding from early June to early October; in 2026 the summer season opened on 4 June. The Gaislachkogl, Giggijoch and Langegg lifts usually carry bikes for the whole season, while the Hochsölden–Rotkogl gondola runs a shorter midsummer window. Upper trails can hold snow into June, so July to September is the safest bet. Expect cool mornings at altitude and pack layers.
