Great Glen Trails is an outdoor center at the foot of Mount Washington in Gorham, New Hampshire, run alongside the Mt. Washington Auto Road. It is an easy spot for mountain bike rental at Mt. Washington, with a trail network right outside the door.
Trails
The trails mix smooth carriage roads with rolling hills and marked backcountry singletrack. That makes it a good place for families and newer riders, with more technical options for those who want them. A summer trail map is available from the center.
Rentals
Bike rentals come in two-hour and four-hour blocks, and there are kid-friendly options. Booking 30 or more days ahead saves 10%. Great Glen Outfitters on site can help with gear.
Races and events
Great Glen hosts a weekly Summer Mountain Bike Series and the 24 Hours of Great Glen. On these days, trails and rentals close early or for the whole day, so check the calendar before planning your visit.
Good to know
In 2026 the center opened on weekends from mid-May and daily from early June to mid-October, from 8:30am to 5pm. In winter it switches to cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking. Call ahead or book online to reserve a bike.
