Giants Ridge Bike Park – Lift-Served Mountain Biking in Biwabik, Minnesota
Lift-served gravity trails and XC singletrack on the Iron Range
About
Giants Ridge is a year-round resort on Minnesota’s Iron Range, and Giants Ridge Bike Park is its summer side. The Sarajevo Express Chairlift carries riders to the top of a network of purpose-built gravity trails.
Gravity trails
The resort describes 12 gravity trails. They range from green lines such as Kitty Kat and Tadpole, through the blue freeride trail Leap Frog, up to black and double black runs like Sector 12, Goliath and Granite Gorge. That gives newer riders somewhere to start and gives experienced riders steep, rocky terrain to work on.
Cross-country riding
There are also about 9 to 10 miles of cross-country trails. These need a separate, low-cost XC day pass if you are not riding the lift.
Passes, rentals and camps
An adult gravity day pass costs $42 online or $47 at the window. A child pass (ages 7–12) is $32 online. Select Thursdays are $25. An XC trail day pass is $6. The rental shop is open daily in two blocks, 10 am to 2 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm, and enduro bikes can go on the lift when the park is open. The resort’s Mountain Sports School runs youth camps and private lessons.
Good to know
The lift-served park usually runs Friday to Sunday and on select holidays, and trails can stay closed after heavy rain while they dry. Buy passes online for the best price and check the summer mountain report before you drive up.
