Endless Biking – MTB Lessons in North Vancouver, BC
North Shore coaching, camps and tours from the founders of PMBIA
About
Looking for mtb lessons in North Vancouver? Endless Biking is a qualified local team that knows the trails around North Vancouver inside out.
Endless Biking is one of the best-established places to take mountain bike lessons in North Vancouver, with a long history of teaching riders of all ages to handle the famously steep and technical North Shore. Based on Crown Street near the foot of the mountains, it runs adult lessons, youth camps and guided tours, backed by its own rental fleet and workshop.
The business is led by co-founders Darren Butler and Kelli Sherbinin, who are listed on the team page as former PMBIA Course Trainers and as course mentors and trainers with the Global Syndicate of Mountain Bike Coaches (GSMBC). Endless Biking describes its staff as certified professional coaches, instructors and guides, and it also delivers instructor training, so coaching standards are central to what it does.
What they offer
- Try MTB – a two-hour guided introduction including bike and helmet.
- Adult progression – progression sessions and rides, skills sessions, enduro training and private lessons.
- Youth programmes – spring break and summer camps, DYRT group rides, the GRIP girls’ programme, COG Kids for children with autism and youth private lessons (ages 6–18).
- Guided tours – Trail Sampler, Enduro Classics, Gravity Shuttles, All-Day Adventure, Scenic and Gravel tours.
- Bikeology workshops and rentals – maintenance know-how plus hardtail, full-suspension, e-bike and kids bike hire.
Endless Biking is a strong choice for anyone who wants to learn the skills the North Shore demands before tackling its trails alone. Adults can start with a Try MTB session, then move into progression sessions or targeted skills sessions on drops and technical features. Youth programmes are especially broad, with camps, group rides, a girls’ programme and an inclusive programme for children with autism. Visitors short on time can book a guided tour instead – from a gentle scenic ride along the Seymour River to full-day shuttle-assisted adventures for confident riders.
The riding around North Vancouver
- Mount Fromme – the spiritual home of North Shore riding, with steep, rooty and technical trails above Lynn Valley.
- Mount Seymour – a wide spread of trails from flowy intermediate runs to the infamous technical lines further up.
- Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve – gentler forest roads and singletrack along the Seymour River, great for newer riders and gravel bikes.
When to ride
The North Shore can be ridden all year, though winter brings plenty of rain and wet roots. Youth camps run from spring break in March through the summer holidays, with group rides in spring and autumn, and adult programmes are offered across the seasons. The shop opens fewer days in spring and winter, so check hours before you visit.
Getting to North Vancouver
North Vancouver sits just across Burrard Inlet from downtown Vancouver. From Vancouver International Airport (YVR) the drive takes about 35–45 minutes via the Lions Gate or Ironworkers Memorial bridges, traffic depending. Without a car you can take the SeaBus from Waterfront Station to Lonsdale Quay and connect by local bus.
Tips for your ride
- North Shore trails are more technical than their colour grades suggest elsewhere – start a level lower than usual.
- Expect wet roots and rock for much of the year; good tyres and knee pads make a big difference.
- Book a rental with your lesson if you are travelling – the fleet includes kids and e-bikes.
- Summer camps are popular with local families, so reserve places early.
