Mountain Bike Tours in Cusco – Cusco Kinti Biking

Day rides, multi-day trips and Andean MTB expeditions from Cusco

Peru, South America

About

Kinti Biking runs Mountain Bike Tours in Cusco that range from a single day of flowing Sacred Valley singletrack to multi-day expeditions around the glaciers of Ausangate. Their pitch is simple: world-class trails in the Peruvian Andes, good food and plenty of history along the way.

The company was founded in 2019 by Deivi (“Dey”) and a group of friends who shared a love of cycling and exploration; the name combines his children’s names, Kim and Inti. The team says its guides bring more than 15 years of adventure-tourism experience, and the website is available in English and Spanish.

Every route on the site is graded from easy to extreme with distance and duration, so it’s straightforward to pick a ride that matches your fitness and skills. Full-day rides run from about 18 to 26 km and take seven to nine hours including transport and lunch, while the longer trips weave in Inca sites, mountain villages and, on the biggest itinerary, Machu Picchu itself. Prices fall as group size grows.

The riding around Cusco

  • Sacred Valley – flowing trails around Lamay and Lares, plus rides past the Maras salt mines and Moray terraces.
  • Cusco’s own hills – gravity runs such as La Maxima and Inca Avalanche close to the city.
  • Ausangate and Vinicunca – high-altitude expedition riding near Rainbow Mountain and the Ausangate lagoons.

When to ride

May to October is the dry season and brings the best trail conditions. From November to April there’s more rain and some mud, though many routes are still rideable.

Getting to Cusco

Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ) is about 15 minutes from the historic centre by car, with frequent flights from Lima taking about an hour and a half.

Tips for your mountain bike tours in Cusco

  • Cusco sits at about 3,400 m – spend two or three easy days acclimatising before a big ride.
  • Book as a group if you can, and remember online bookings need a deposit.
  • Pack sun protection and warm layers; Andean mornings are cold and the sun is strong.
  • Match the tour level (easy to extreme) honestly to your riding.
