About
Looking for a Lake Garda bike hotel? Caravel Bike Hotel is set up for mountain bikers, with secure bike storage, a bike wash, a workshop with tools, e-bike charging, bike rental, guided rides or shuttles and laundry for riding kit.
Caravel Bike Hotel sits in central Torbole, a short walk from the northern shore of Lake Garda. It is built around cycling, from road riding to enduro and e-MTB, and works well for groups who want guided days out.
The hotel has a video-monitored bike store, a small workshop with a wash corner and a self-service repair station. Bike managers suggest routes and let guests try current models for half or full days. Guided rides run every day from April to October for an extra fee, a shuttle to trailheads can be booked through partners, and riding kit can be laundered for a charge.
Torbole is a natural hub for riding around Garda. The rocky trails above Nago, Arco and Riva and the lakeside paths are all within easy pedalling distance.

Best rides from Torbole
- Monte Brione loop – a flat, roughly 13 km circuit around the olive-covered hill that separates Torbole from Riva, using lakeside cycle paths and quiet lanes. Easy, family-friendly and ideal for a first spin or a rest day.
- Altissimo tour via Passo San Giovanni – the big local loop from Torbole: about 46 km and 1,890 m of climbing towards Monte Altissimo, descending past Malga Campei before returning over Passo San Giovanni and Nago. Rated difficult; plan a full day.
- San Giovanni al Monte from Arco – a short but stiff climb of around 1,100 m to a 1,125 m summit above Arco, with a medium-level descent. Arco is a flat ride up the Sarca valley from Torbole.
- Monte Velo – an easier tour of about 30 km from Arco to Rifugio Velo, mostly on gravel and forest roads, with long views over the Sarca valley and the lake.
Getting to Torbole
The nearest airport is Verona Villafranca, about an hour and a quarter away by car. Milan Bergamo, at around two hours, is the alternative, and Bologna airport has a direct train to Rovereto. Shared and private transfers run from the main northern Italian airports.
Rovereto is the closest railway station, around 15 km away, with regular Trentino Trasporti buses to Torbole, Riva and Arco. Tickets must be bought before you board.
When to ride
The northern tip of the lake has a mild climate, and Garda Trentino lists rides as possible all year. For most riders the best months are April to June and September to October, when it is warm but not baking and the trails are dry. A Lake Garda bike hotel makes a fine base in high summer too, as long as you set off early to beat the heat. The higher Altissimo routes are best from early summer, once the snow has gone, and rocky trails stay slippery for a while after rain.
