About

Bikepark Špičák is one of the best-known bike parks in the Czech Republic. It sits on the slopes of Špičák in the Šumava mountains near Železná Ruda, right by the Bavarian border, and is run by the Špičák mountain resort (now called Šumavský Špičák).

The park is served by a four-seat chairlift and is known for its natural trails, flow and high fun factor – and its Struggle downhill track has a real racing pedigree, having regularly hosted Czech and European Cup races in the past.

Trails at Bikepark Špičák

  • Good Year Family Line – a 3.5 km trail for beginners and improving riders who just want to enjoy the ride.
  • Black Friday – a 2.3 km natural trail of medium difficulty with berms, jumps and transfers, dropping about 336 m.
  • Struggle – about 1.1 km of medium to hard riding with rock sections, drops and jumps.
  • Air – Stone – a 1 km north-shore line for confident riders.
  • Jump Park – eight table-top jumps in two lines.
  • Airbag – an inflatable landing bag with two take-offs near the lift station, perfect for learning new tricks safely.
  • Skill Center – small jumps, drops and a pump track for beginners.
  • Uphill Špičák 1202 – a 5 km climbing trail to the summit for riders who prefer to pedal up.

Bike school, rental and service

  • Gravity Academy: the park’s own bike school, plus the Gravity Kids Riders programme for young riders.
  • Rental: bike rental at the base station.
  • Bike service and shop: on-site workshop, bike shop and bike sales.

Season and prices

In 2026 the chairlift runs at weekends and on public holidays in May (10:00–16:00), at weekends and holidays from 1 to 14 June, daily from 15 June to 15 September (9:00–17:00), and again at weekends and holidays until 31 October. A one-day adult lift ticket costs 960 CZK, with 3-hour tickets, ride-count tickets and season passes available, and you can buy tickets online.

Tips for your first day at Bikepark Špičák

  • Start on the Good Year Family Line to get used to the lift and the park before moving on to Black Friday.
  • Try the airbag if you want to learn jumps or tricks without the risk of a hard landing.
  • Book a Gravity Academy lesson on your first morning – it’s the fastest way to ride the rockier lines with confidence.
  • Check the opening days: outside mid-June to mid-September the lift only runs at weekends and on holidays.
  • Bring full protection: a full-face helmet and pads are a good idea on the steeper trails.
