About

Beech Mountain Resort sits high in the Blue Ridge near Banner Elk. In summer the ski area turns into Beech Mountain Resort Bike Park, a lift-served park where the chairlift does the climbing for you.

Trails for all levels

The summit is reached by chairlift only. From the top you can choose beginner trails or steeper advanced terrain on the way back down. The mix makes it a good place for a first bike park day as well as for riders who want to push their skills on technical lines.

Rentals and lessons

An on-site bike shop rents mountain bikes and protective gear, so you do not need to bring a downhill bike. Lesson packages are available for riders of all levels. Lift tickets are sold at Ski Beech Sports in the resort village.

The setting

Beech Mountain sits at high elevation, which helps keep summer riding cooler than in the valleys below. Boone and Banner Elk are a short drive away, with more trails and places to stay.

Good to know

The bike park usually runs Thursday to Sunday from late May through early fall. Dates change each season, so check the resort’s operating calendar before you go. Call the bike park for current ticket prices and rental availability.
