Kids Mountain Bike Camps in Kanata – Bakkers Trailblazers

Bakkers Trailblazers runs Kids Mountain Bike Camps in Kanata, in Ottawa’s west end. The camps are led by Osmond Bakker, a former professional mountain bike racer.

Summer camps

Camps run for a week at a time and are for boys and girls aged 5 to 13. Campers ride the local trail networks around Kanata and work on skills at their own level. Drop-off is at Beaverbrook Community Centre between 8:00 and 8:45 a.m., and pick-up is 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. Look for the Bakkers Trailblazers trailer in the west parking lot.

Coaching

The camp page names Osmond Bakker as a PMBIA certified coach. Private lessons and a development team are also listed on the site.

Racing and events

Bakkers Trailblazers also organises the Twilight MTB Race Series and a Twilight trail running series in the Ottawa area, which give young riders a next step after camp.

Good to know

Camp weeks cost CA$409. Six weeks are offered each summer in July and August, and the dates for 2027 are already posted. Registration is online and can close when weeks fill. For questions, email [email protected].
