Antur Stiniog – Community Downhill Bike Park in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Wales
Community-run downhill bike park on the slate mountains of Eryri
About
Antur Stiniog is a community-run downhill bike park on the slate mountainside above Blaenau Ffestiniog, in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, North Wales. Set up by local people in 2009 and opened in 2012, it was built to bring life and jobs back to a former slate-quarrying town – and profits go back into the community.
Riding at Antur Stiniog
The park has 14 gravity trails, graded from green to black, on steep, rocky, natural Welsh terrain with big views over the slate valley. An uplift service runs riders back to the top, so you can spend the whole day descending.
Downhill bikes (Saracen Myst) can be hired on site, and there is a café at the bottom for refuelling between runs. The park also hosts national downhill races.
