Heli-Biking in Whistler – Coast Range
Helicopter-accessed expert descents on Hidden Peak near Whistler
About
Coast Range is a heli-ski and heli-bike operator based at the Whistler heliport. It offers Heli-Biking in Whistler on the Hidden Peak trail, a long descent in the backcountry between Whistler and Pemberton.
The descents
The Downhill Drop from Helipad 2 is 8.3 km with about 1,200 m of descent. The Enduro Add-on from Helipad 1 is 12 km with about 1,500 m of descent and a short 110 m climb. Both are rated expert.
Who it suits
This is for advanced to expert riders only. Coast Range says you should be riding black diamond downhill or enduro trails regularly, such as Original Sin or Top of the World in the Whistler Bike Park. There are no mandatory drops or gaps, but there are mandatory rock rolls, berms and steep sections. Minimum age is 15. A trail safety staff member sweeps the trail and carries a radio.
Bikes and logistics
Bring your own bike or rent one in Whistler. E-bikes up to 50 lbs are allowed. The meeting point is at the bottom of the trail, about 23 minutes’ drive from Whistler Village, so you need a vehicle or a booked taxi.
Good to know
In 2026 the downhill helipad opened on July 11, with the enduro add-on targeted for late July depending on snow. A single seat was CA$675. Book through the Coast Range website, email [email protected] or call the office.
