About

Griffin Bike Park is a purpose-built riding area just south of Terre Haute, Indiana. Griffin Bike Park honors U.S. Army Sgt. Dale Griffin, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2009, and it opened in 2016 after years of volunteer trail building.

Trails and features

The park covers more than 300 acres and has over 30 miles of multiuse trails for every skill level. Beyond the singletrack there is a dual slalom course, a pump track, a Basic Training Skills Park and a Water Skills Training Park. A jump park is set to be rebuilt. An adaptive trail, the Freedom Trail, is also on site.

Events

The park hosts races in the DINO mountain bike series and its own community rides. Its fall finale, the Pain Train, invites riders to try all 33 miles of trail in one day for a $25 donation.

Good to know

The park is open from dawn to dusk. No entry fee is listed, and the park is supported by donations and sponsors. Restrooms and a water bottle fill station are on site. There is no lift or shuttle. Check the park website or its Facebook page for trail conditions, event dates and the current season schedule.
