Thunder Mountain Bikes is a full-service shop on State Route 89A in West Sedona. It is one of the best known places for Mountain Bike Rentals in Sedona, and says it has the largest MTB-dedicated rental fleet in town.
The fleet
Bikes are chosen for Sedona’s rocky, technical trails. The range goes from hardtails and youth bikes up to full-suspension models from brands such as Evil, Trek, Santa Cruz and Rocky Mountain. Daily prices start at $49.99 for hardtail and youth bikes. Performance bikes are $79.99, Premium $99.99 and Dream bikes $129.99. E-bikes cost $119.99 to $139.99 a day.
What you get
Every rental includes a helmet, your choice of flat or clipless pedals, a flat kit and a basic damage plan. Osprey packs are free while they last. Car racks can be rented in store for $10 a day. Rentals of 2 to 4 days get 10% off, and 5 days or more get 20% off.
Tours, lessons and repairs
The shop is a base for local guiding and coaching partners, and riders booking lessons with partners can get discounted rentals. The workshop handles service and repairs, and staff can help you plan a ride.
Good to know
The shop is open 9 am to 6 pm, seven days a week, except major holidays. There are no half-day rentals; the rental day runs from 9 am to 6 pm. A security hold is placed on your card. Reserve online to secure the right size.
