Blue Mountain Bike Park – Lift-Served Downhill in the Poconos, Pennsylvania
Chairlift-served downhill trails, lessons and rentals in the Poconos
About
Blue Mountain Resort runs Blue Mountain Bike Park on its slopes in Palmerton, in the Pocono region of Pennsylvania. Riders load bikes on the Comet Quad chairlift and descend on green, blue and black downhill trails with jumps, berms and rock sections. The resort notes that its ratings are relative to each other, so start easy and work up.
Trails for first-timers
New riders can start on Shakedown Street, a 3.3-mile beginner trail. The Intro to Downhill package covers a 1.5-hour lesson on that trail, plus rental bike, protective gear and a lift ticket. You can keep riding with the ticket and gear for the rest of the day after the lesson.
Lessons and rentals
Beyond the intro package, the resort offers a beginner lesson, a skill improvement lesson focused on a skill you choose, and one-hour private lessons. The rental shop has bikes, shoes, helmets and body armour. A bike rental includes helmet and body armour. Rentals are limited, so book ahead online.
Tickets
Day tickets cover all downhill trails and the chairlift from open to close. Afternoon tickets from 1pm are sold on weekends. Buying online is a little cheaper than at the window.
Good to know
The park opens Friday to Sunday from mid-May into the fall. In September and October 2026 it ran Friday noon to 5pm and weekends 10am to 5pm. Riders under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign the release. Check the resort website for current dates and to book tickets, rentals and lessons.
