High Peaks Cyclery is a full-service bike shop on Main Street in Lake Placid, in the Adirondacks of New York. It is a good first stop for mountain bike rental in Lake Placid, with bikes for the local singletrack and route ideas from staff who ride the area.
Rental fleet
The rental fleet includes hardtails, full-suspension trail bikes and carbon full-suspension bikes from brands such as Giant, Salsa, Yeti, BMC and Liv. Fat bikes are available for winter riding. Rentals are offered as half-day, full-day and multi-day blocks. Flat pedals are always fitted, a few clipless pedals are available, and you can bring your own pedals for the shop to install.
Shop and service
The shop sells new bikes and parts and handles servicing and suspension work. It also runs shuttles for the Adirondack Rail Trail. Staff can point you to local mountain bike routes, and the website has a page of Lake Placid riding ideas.
Local racing
