Intro to Mountain Biking Clinic in Marshall – French Broad Adventures
Beginner mountain bike clinic with PMBIA certified instructors on the French Broad
About
French Broad Adventures is an outdoor outfitter based on the French Broad River north of Asheville. Alongside its river trips it runs an Intro to Mountain Biking Clinic in Marshall for riders who are new to the sport or want to fix the basics.
What the clinic covers
The course focuses on fundamentals. You learn how your bike works, how to brake safely and use your gears, how to read the trail, and how to position your body on the bike. Practice starts on gravel roads and moves onto trails as you gain confidence. Basic maneuvers round out the day.
Who teaches it
The outfitter states that the course is taught by PMBIA certified instructors. PMBIA is a recognised mountain bike instruction body, so the teaching follows a set progression rather than ad hoc tips.
Bikes and costs
You ride your own bike. If you do not have one, the team can point you to local rental shops. The clinic is $95 per person, plus an ACA membership fee that is added at registration.
Good to know
The clinic meets at the Marshall Outpost. Session dates are posted on the course page when available, and you register online. Call ahead if you have questions about fitness level or bike setup.
