About
Spider Mountain sits in the Hill Country near Burnet, about an hour northwest of Austin. Spider Mountain Bike Park calls its chairlift the only one in Texas, and it runs year-round.
Trails
The park has 22 trails, from a beginner area and the Itsy-Bitsy run up to steeper downhill lines. Uphill riding is allowed at any time, so you can also pedal laps.
Rentals
The rental fleet includes full-suspension bikes such as the Transition Spire, Trek Slash and Devinci Spartan, plus kids bikes. A full-day adult bike costs $79 on weekdays and $99 at weekends. Helmet and pads are extra, at $25 for both. A $99 weekday package with lift ticket, bike, helmet and armor runs on select days.
Lessons
The free Intro to Bike Park lesson runs on Saturday and Sunday mornings for ages 10 and up. It lasts 90 minutes and you need a lift ticket. Private coaching is also offered.
Good to know
Lift tickets use variable pricing and start at $9, depending on the date and how early you buy. Kids 12 and under ride free with the Power Kids Pass. The lift usually runs Friday to Sunday, and weather can change hours, so check before you drive out. There is lodging on site.
