About
Hlíðarfjall is the Bike Park in Akureyri, the capital of North Iceland. In summer the ski area above town turns into a bike park, with views over Eyjafjörður fjord from the top.
Lift-served trails
Riders take their bikes up on the lower chairlift, Fjarkinn, and ride down purpose-built downhill and flow trails. New features were added to the trails in 2025.
Opening days
The bike park is open on set days from July to early September. In summer 2025 it was open on 32 days, mostly Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays plus some long weekends, and welcomed more than 1,500 visitors. Check the website for this season’s dates and ticket prices.
Good to know
Hlíðarfjall is about 10 minutes’ drive from Akureyri town centre. Bring your own bike and protective gear.
