MTB Lessons in Beroun – Fun Bike School
ITC-B licensed MTB coaching for kids and adults in Beroun
About
Fun Bike School offers relaxed, skills-focused MTB lessons in Beroun and the surrounding Berounská kotlina, just west of Prague. The philosophy is simple: the foundation of every session is enjoying the bike, with better technique following naturally so that you feel safer and more in control on the trail.
The school is run by Petr Hendrych, who lists the ITC-B licence on his website – described there as the highest instructor qualification available in the Czech Republic – along with the ITC-C and ITC-D levels and specialist certificates in children’s teaching, technical trails, and jumps and drops. The Bike licence programme also lists Fun Bike School among its instructors’ schools.
Teaching is personal and adaptable. Petr builds each session around your skills and needs, and the time and place are agreed with you rather than fixed in advance. That makes Fun Bike School a good fit for nervous beginners, parents riding with their children, and experienced riders who want specific help with technical sections, jumps or drops. Regular group classes give children and adults a chance to progress steadily with others at a similar level, and the school also supports community events such as e-bike enduro races.
MTB lessons in Beroun: what they offer
- Individual coaching for one to four riders, in two-hour, three-hour or full-day sessions
- Regular children’s group classes in three ability categories
- Adult group classes, also split into three levels
- Camps and a summer day camp for kids
- Individual lessons for e-bike riders, arranged on request
The riding around Beroun
- Český kras Protected Landscape Area – limestone hills and forest tracks south-east of town
- Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area – wooded valleys and long forest roads along the Berounka
- Brdy – a large forested upland to the south with gravel climbs and quiet trails
The Beroun basin sits at the meeting point of several protected landscapes, which means a lot of varied riding without long drives. Short, punchy limestone climbs, wooded river valleys and quiet forest roads all lie within easy reach, so a session can cover everything from basic bike handling on easy ground to more demanding technical terrain.
When to ride
Group classes and camps run from spring to autumn, and the school has added a winter children’s group for the 2026/27 season. Individual sessions are booked by arrangement, so timing is flexible.
Spring and autumn are especially pleasant around Beroun, with cooler temperatures for climbing and colourful forests. Summer evenings are ideal for after-work group classes, and the winter children’s group helps young riders keep their skills sharp through the colder months.
Getting to Beroun
Prague Václav Havel airport is about 35 minutes away by car via the D5 motorway. Beroun is also on the main railway line from Prague, with frequent trains taking about 40 minutes from the city centre.
Tips for your ride
- Message ahead to agree a meeting point – venues are set around your level.
- Book a package of lessons if you want regular coaching, as multi-session prices are lower.
- Bring your own bike, helmet and gloves; rental is not mentioned on the site.
- Pack water and a snack – forest loops around Beroun can be longer than they look.
