About

Looking for mountain bike coaching in Squamish? Dialed In Cycling is a qualified local team that knows the trails around Squamish inside out.

Dialed In Cycling is a friendly, community-minded shop and coaching outfit offering mountain bike lessons in Squamish for riders as young as four through to seasoned adults. Alongside coaching it runs guided rides, rentals, servicing and regular shop rides, so it is a good one-stop base whether you live locally or are visiting the Sea to Sky.

The team includes a PMBI Level 2 instructor (who also holds a Sprockids leader qualification), and the company’s guiding page notes that certified PMBIA instructors are part of the crew. Programmes are built around small groups and clear progression, with separate streams for kids, women and adults.

What they offer

  • Intro to Mountain Biking – a single session covering the foundations for brand-new riders.
  • Fundamentals packs – four-session adult and women’s courses at green and blue level, plus a three-session black-trail pack for strong riders.
  • Skills clinics – dedicated sessions on rock slabs and drops.
  • Kids and youth – after-school programmes from age 4 and two- or three-day summer camps.
  • Guided rides – intro, half-day and full-day rides on regular bikes or e-MTBs.
  • Private coaching – sessions tailored to your goals and riding style.

Dialed In Cycling is particularly good for families and for riders who prefer to learn over several sessions rather than in one long day. The packs are grouped by trail colour, so you can join at the level that matches your riding and move up when you are ready. Women-only Fundamentals packs create a relaxed atmosphere for building confidence, and the after-school kids programmes are split into narrow age bands so that young riders train with others at a similar stage. Visitors can combine a guided ride or e-MTB outing with a rental and the shop’s Ride and Stay options.

The riding around Squamish

  • Diamond Head and Alice Lake – rooty, rocky singletrack north of town, including some of the best-known descents in the corridor.
  • Garibaldi Highlands – steep, technical riding close to town with classic Squamish granite and loam.
  • Valleycliffe and the Smoke Bluffs – the south end of town, famous for granite slabs, tight tech and short, punchy climbs.

When to ride

Coaching programmes and camps run through the main riding season, with kids summer camps in July and August and community shop rides returning each spring. The shop itself stays open through the off-season. Squamish trails are rideable most of the year, but late spring to early autumn offers the most reliable conditions.

Getting to Squamish

Squamish sits on the Sea-to-Sky Highway (Highway 99) between Vancouver and Whistler. The nearest major airport is Vancouver International (YVR); from there the drive takes about 1 hour 15 minutes, and it is about an hour from downtown Vancouver. Regular coach shuttles also run along the corridor if you would rather not hire a car, although having your own vehicle makes reaching trailheads much easier.

Tips for your ride

  • Newer riders get the most from the multi-session packs – skills stick better with practice between sessions.
  • Book kids camps early; small group sizes mean they fill quickly.
  • You can add a rental (including e-bikes and kids bikes) if you are travelling without your own bike.
  • Join one of the monthly shop rides to meet local riders once your skills are dialled.
