Ribno Alpine Hotel sits in a green, peaceful setting at Ribno, just outside Bled, with views of the Julian Alps and the lake only a short ride away. The owner is a certified cycling guide, and that passion shows in how the hotel looks after riders.

There is a service corner with a stand, tools, pump and spare tubes, a technician who can check or repair your bike, a bike wash station, and self-service laundry with a dryer and rack for wet kit and shoes. Scott mountain bikes, e-bikes and gravel bikes are available to hire, and qualified guides lead both trail-focused and family-friendly tours.

Best rides from Bled

  • Pokljuka plateau – a demanding climb of about 800 m from Lake Bled to the pine-covered plateau at around 1,400 m, linking forest trails and gravel tracks to the Zajamniki pasture. A big day out; e-bikes make it more manageable.
  • Jelovica and Mežakla – dense networks of forest roads on the plateaus around Bled, offering long, quiet gravel loops for fit riders. Ride straight from Ribno.
  • Radovna valley – a gentler option along a peaceful valley north-west of Bled, good for easy days and mixed-ability groups.
  • Bike Park Kranjska Gora – about half an hour’s drive away, with the Vitranc chairlift serving lines from the easy Smokey and green Family Flow to the hard DH Veetranz.
  • Krvavec Bike Park – also around half an hour by car, with about 30 km of marked trails, including the beginner-friendly Bambino and Muci and the more advanced Rock’n’flow.

Note that riding off marked roads and trails is not allowed in Slovenia, so stick to signed routes or ride with a local guide.

Getting to Bled

Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport sits roughly halfway between the capital and Bled, around half an hour’s drive away. Buses and shuttle vans also run to Bled. Lesce-Bled railway station, about 4 km from town, has frequent trains from Ljubljana and a bus connection. If you drive on Slovenian motorways, you will need an e-vignette.

When to ride

The riding season runs from about April to October, and late spring and early autumn are the most comfortable months on the plateaus. Bike park dates vary, so check them before you travel. A bike hotel in Bled puts you within easy reach of both the high forests and the lift-served parks.
