Shaker Ridge Trails
Free, purpose-built mountain bike trails in the Berkshires
About
Shaker Ridge Trails is a new mountain bike trail network in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, just down the road from Jiminy Peak in Hancock. The trails are purpose-built for mountain biking by professional trail builders, with lines for beginner, intermediate and expert riders.
The first trails open to the public in late October 2026, with around 10 miles to ride at launch. Phase I, of about 30 miles, is still being built, and the long-term plan is a network of more than 100 miles. Planned and new features include a long hand-built descent, a technical black descent, a two-way blue trail, a boardwalk, a skills area, a pump track and a green adaptive trail for riders of all abilities.
Riding is free and open to the public from dawn to dusk, weather permitting. Class 1 e-bikes are allowed. There is no lift or shuttle: you pedal up and ride down.
Park at the public lot at 411 Brodie Mountain Road, about three-quarters of a mile east of the Jiminy Peak entrance. Check the official Shaker Ridge Trails website for trail status and openings before you go.
