Borovets Bike Park
Lift-served flow, freeride and family trails in the Rila mountains
About
Borovets Bike Park sits in Bulgaria’s oldest mountain resort, on the northern slopes of the Rila range. It opened in 2010 and gets new work every year. The Sitnyakovo Express quad chairlift carries riders and bikes to the start zone in about 12 minutes, and the Yastrebets gondola also runs in summer.
The park has 15 marked trails covering more than 55 km. Beginners and families can stick to easy flow runs and a family route. Intermediate riders have six options, including the newer Mini Air Line, while confident riders can push on to fast advanced tracks and four expert-only freeride and downhill lines with jumps, drops and rocky forest sections.
Adventure Center Borosport at Hotel Rila rents bikes, from kids’ and standard mountain bikes to higher-end models and e-bikes, and also runs guided bike tours.
Borovets is about 70 km from Sofia, which makes it an easy day trip. Musala, the highest peak in the Balkans, rises above the resort, and the area has more than 60 km of shared hiking and biking paths.
