BikePark Wales
UK gravity riding with minibus uplift and 60+ trails
About
BikePark Wales is a gravity-focused mountain bike park on Mynydd Gethin, just outside Merthyr Tydfil in the South Wales valleys. Instead of chairlifts, a minibus uplift carries riders and bikes to the top of the hill, so you can fit lots of descents into a day. Riders who prefer to climb can buy a cheaper pedal pass, and there is a separate pass for e-bikes.
The network has more than 60 trails, from flowing green and blue runs to rocky red and black descents and a couple of pro lines. Kermit, a 5 km beginner trail, is the usual starting point for first-timers.
The Gethin Woodland Centre has a café, a workshop and a hire fleet of enduro, downhill and electric bikes. There are also coaching sessions, beginner packages and uplift sessions for parents riding with younger children. The park is open all year, usually Thursday to Monday, and every day during school holidays.
